Description of depression in people with epilepsy in Aceh

Background: Depression is the most common comorbid in people with epilepsy (PWE). Detection of depression PWE not a routine examination at neurology clinic because it takes long time. The education Acehnese regarding still limited, leading to discrimination and stigma society. It easy carry out examinations, diagnosis often overlooked. objective this study was screen describe characteristics Aceh.Method: This descriptive observational total respondents involved 41 PWEs. conducted using Neurological Disorders Inventory for Epilepsy (NDDI-E), valid, reliable, shorter more straightforward instrument test. sample determinate probability sampling method simple random technique.Results: Our results found that 39% experienced depression, NDDI-E scores ranged between 11-15, percentage 41.5%. Out total, 57.1% occurred women those who aged 18-25 years old were frequent experience depression. among had no formal (66.7%).Conclusion: Aceh tends occur women, worked as labor or farmer.
